On February 8, 2019, United Airlines flight UAL1104 reported a UFO with red, green, and white lights hovering at high altitude near Butte, Montana. The FAA Ops provided preliminary information indicating no other aircraft were detected in the area.

On February 1, 2023, American Airlines flight AAL2399 reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon while en route from Las Vegas to Charlotte. The phenomenon was described as red, green, and white lights traveling in formation and changing colors and brightness.
