The report generally agrees with / Statements submitted by the two(2) airmen who were with the undersigned at the time the incident appeared, "On 9 July 1953, I A/2C Robert G. Peeler, was sitting on the 5th Street ramp of the base hospital, 3750th Medical Group, with A/2C Elmer C. Grimes, and A/2C Richard L. Porter, also of the 3750th Medical Group, this Head- quarters, At aprx 1205 hours, I heard a niose in the sky behind me, Looking upward, I noticed two (2), B+-25 type aircraft flying in a West- ward direction, After a few seconds, a strange flying object appeared in the sky, and I followed it with my eyes during its course of travel, It appeared to be acecircular dise when first observed, aprx one (1) inch in diameter, The object appeared to increase its size as it came towards me from an unknown very high altitude. The circular Shape of the object seemed to change to elliptical the closer it became. The object was travel- ing in a Southwest direction, at a very fast unknown rate of speed. Much faster than I have ever seen on an aircraft in flight, After the three (3) of us had seen the object it was reported to the Base Intelligence Office, The object when it first appeared, seemed to be very much higher than the aircraft that were flying in the immediate aréa, and it appeared to be traveling towards us, and at the same time across the sky. The convincing factor that it was not an aircraft, was that the object was spinning horizontally and yet travelling with a forward motion. The object at its largest point, appeared to be eight (2) inches in diameter as observed with the naked eye. The color of the object was difficult to define, it was a silvery-white, but emmitting an unusual glow, that appeared to be bright and dull at the same time, It travelled from the Northwest to the Southeast, but forming an orbit to the South- west, It also appeared to have made a verticle "U", before dissappearing Over neighboring buildings. As it came closer, the object seemed to Slow-down considerably, and then suddenly it again gained altitude and dissappeared at a very fast rate of speed," Sohut A Debo ROBERT G.
