Hq Southern Air Procurement Dist Fort Worth, Texas Information was received from OSI District office No. 23, Carswell Air Force Base on this subject as related to them by Mr. Everard Melvin Kinch, employee of Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft Corporation, Department 28-3 (Production), who resides at 4223 Jerry Lane, Haltom City, Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. Everard M. Kinch was interviewed 17 July 1953 in accordance with AF 200~5, Mr. Kinch was cooperative and conversant during the interview and offered a signed statement which is attached herein. Mr. Kinch related the following description: The object was blue or purple in color, appeared more of a light then a solid object, he was unable to estimate size or any aerodynamic features. Object apparently was traveling at a very high rate of speed, and registered no sound. Mr. Kinch advised the object maneuvered very sharply once or twice then disappeared in a northwesterly direction. Object was sighted approximately 2115 hours 9 July 1953, and was visible to Mr. Kinch about three or four seconds. The weather at the time was hot and clear, and according to Mr. Kinch there was no activity or condition, meteorological or otherwise which might account for the sighting. It should be noted Mr. Kinch's estimate of location the Lake Worth area would be | in the immediate vicinity of Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft Corporation and Carswell Air Force Base. Employment records reveal Everard Kinch employee #6-9-540938, born 15 July 1918, employed as ingineer Liaison Man-B, High School Education. Box 9038 Fort Worth, Texas l. Information was received on this subject from Mr. EVERARD MELVIN KINCH, an employee of Convair, Department 28-3, who resides at 4223 Jerry Lane, Haltom City, Fort Worth, Texas. 2. KINCH advised that at approximately 2115 hours, 9 July 1953, he had just finished a church activity at the Ridgecrest Baptist Church and was locking the front door of the church in preparation to leaving when he observed a blue, hazy, glowing light northeast from the front of the church which faces in a westerly direction. The blue, hazy light had no definite outline and appeared to be travelling in a southwesterly direc- tion. It changed course and travelled in a westerly direction for what appeared to be a short distance and again changed course to 4 south- westerly direction. The total time this blue, hazy light was visible was approximately three (3) or four (4) seconds and KINCH was unable to identify a shape or form which might be attributed to the light. KINCH further advised that he was unable to estimate the altitude of the light; however, believed it to be at the same altitude as normal aircraft in flight. KINCH could not state whether or not the blue, hazy light could be attributed to the flying saucer phenomene. KINCH stated that three (3) other persons were present at the time he saw the light and whom he also believed saw it. KINCH identified these persons as: Mrs. ESTHER KINCH, his wife; Mr. PAUL HARTER, residing at 4209 N.E. 30th Street, Hal- tom City; and, a Mr. EUGENE DRAKE, who resides in the 4300 block of Jerry Lane, Haltom City. 3. For your information, KINCH is believed to be somewhat sensitive about this matter, believing that he might be held up to ridicule at his place of work should his name be used in this connection. He is willing to give eny information desired irrespective of any other consideration. 4.
