SUBJECT —— 2e One (1) object reported, round in shape, ranging in size of pin head to an automobile, described as white or shining by most observers, no trail or exhaust, no propulsion system; eight observers reported slow movement or waving back and forth, and five (5) observers reported no movement, no sound or maneuvers; object reported to have vanished when it disappeared, de Object viewed with maked eye and through 7 X 50 binoculars, he All observers on premises of Tinker Air Force Base ami all were within a radius of e miles. Object first reported slightly South and East of Base moving to directly over the Base, altitude estimated between 50,000 feet and 50,000 feet. De Observers believed to be reliable substantiated by considerable experience viewing aircraft from the ground, 6. The weather officer advises all winds aloft from Northwest at 2100 (CST), and winds practically the same 1500 (CST). The weather officer also advises that a weather balloon was in this locality at the time of sighting but galloon should have appeared from the Northwest instead of the Southeast. The fact that a weather balloon was in this vicinity is substantiated by the fact that weather balloon transmitter was recovered approximately two and one«-fourth (27) miles East of the base on 5 July 1955¢ AMrse Reinhart saw the parachute and instrument fall on her farm between 1900 and 2000 (CST), 2 duly 1953. Lt don't know what time it was when I saw this object. 1 watched it for about five minutese I observed this object visually from the ground. I couldn't find it with the binocularse I used. It did not look too big; it looked like a big star, I would say the evening star - real brighte There was no trail nor exhaust. It looked like it was stationarye When it left it just vanished. There was no sounde It must have been about 1905 when I saw ite I watched it for three (3) or four (41) minutese I observed the object with my naked eye from the grounde > Tt looked like it was West of Tinker Air Force Base and South of c9th Street. It was 45,000 or 50,000 feet highs I have been on the Guard Force for eleven (11) yearse I am usually exposed to the weather and observe aircraft over the field. I watched it about ten (10) minutes, I was watching it when it disappeared, I observed the object visually from the ground and I used binocularse The binoculars I used were 7X50. Il am uncertain as to the exact time I went out to look at it. The object was visual from the ground. I think the last reflections of the sun rays was what made all of us see it so easily. I believe it was a weather balloon, No fragments or physical evidence of the ob:ject were observed. I couldn't tell for sure whether it was round or oblong. It was silver in color. I would say it was about the size of a B-29, It was a solid objects it was not exactly round. There was no trail or exhaust. There was no sound, It stood still for 15 minutes after I started watching it. When it moved, I would say the speed was from between 200 and 1,00 miles per hours. It stood still over Tinker Air Force Base for about 15 minutes and then it moved almost directl over the field. It was just a little South of me. It stayed there about 15 minuteSe It started Northwest and disappeared immediately. It didn't change color. It looked like a bright light. he light was on all the time that I could tell. I saw the object at 1830 hours and observed it for 30 minutes, I observed the object from the ground. I was standing still. I did not use field glasses or binoculars. There was only one object. When I saw the object I was at Gate No. 27, Tinker Air Force Base. The object was slightly East and South, then it moved to Northwest and stopped practically due over the field. I would say it was about 0,000 feet high. I have been employed on the Guard Force at Tinker Air Force Base for eleven (11) years, Ihe weather was very clear and fair, The wind was approximately 15 to <O mph South Easterly. I stayed 10 or 15 minutes longer to see whether or not it would come back. It went out of sight about 1900.
