Manner of appdarance: First sighted above horizon five (5) miles distant. Dove to about 100-200 feet above river at 50-100 yards from observers, then climbed out of sight. Object was in horizontal position at all times. Time of sighting: 02/0345 2 JAN 1953. Manner of observation: Visual. Location of observer during sighting: From automobile, then outside of vehicle when object appeared to be 50-100 yards distant. Identifying information on observer and estimate of reliability: Mr. Ander- son, Mrs, Gertea Williams, and Miss Marlene Wills, all of Helena, Montana, are all responsible persons, Mr, Anderson was the only person to sight the object from outside the car, and since he does not drink, his observation is considered very reliable. I was driving my car ten miles south of Cascade, near the Missouri River, on highway 91 when T saw this object. vhen I first saw the object I estimate that it was five miles avay, and it came richt at me, anid when it was 100 to 200 feet over the river and directly opposite me, it started to climb rap~ idly, staying in a horigonteal position at all times, Tt contirmmed to climb until out of sight. The closest the object came to me was about 100 yards away, ani approximately 50 to 100 feet above the river, The object was silver in color, shaped as a saucer, and had a reddish glow from the botton, The weather conditions were clear, a bright moonlight night, with a slight wind. The object appeared from the south-west ani headed towards the north-east when out of sight. I estimate that I saw the object when it was five miles in front of me, and kept it in sight until it was five milea away from me. I estimate that it wae in my sight for approximately ten seconis, therefore I estimate the speed at 3600 miles per hour.
