Headquarters Comd, USAF Director of Intelligence 52—4 PAGE 1 OF Ks PAGES Sighting reported by John Boehmer, civilian, who is a cartographic draftsman and others working on the fourth floor of 1109 N. Highland St, Clarendon, Va. offices of the U.S. Geological Survey. First sighted what appeared to be the reflection of metal objects, three (3) in number, and two (2) orange objects shaped like disks. The orange objects maintained a lower altitude and moved in a south- westerly direction. The objects were seen for a period of from three (3) to five (5) minutes at about two thousand (2,000) feet. There were two (2) aircraft in the vicinity one (1) light plane and one (1) military type aircraft. Reporting officer heard from one of the men working in this drafting office that there were new shops opening in Parkington, Va. and that they were advertising by dropping leaflets. The ivestigating officer did contact all new shops in this area and did find that one shop a Franzes or Franks Jewelery Shop had leaflets dropped fae a light aircraft. Time and area dropped tie-in with sighting time etc. It is the belief of the investigating officer that it was the leaflet reported as unidentified objects.
