15 August 1952 At 2255 hours, 1) August 1952, I had just finished werk and was on my way to my barracks when an A/l1c and A/e2c called to me to observe & moving object in the sky. They were standing, facing towards the lake, between buildings 347 and 348. At about a twelve o'clock position, I immediately picked up the moving object which somewhat resembled a star and to the eye it seemed to be about the same distance in altitude. It was much larger than the average star and cast off a light of lavender color. About half a minute after I first saw the object, it came to a complete stop and was motionless for about a minute. It then started moving again, leaving no trail, in a zig-zag manner but at the same time moving from the twelve o'clock position to about a two o'clock position. ‘There again it came to a complete stop and just seemed to hang among the stars for almost a minute. At this time, or just before, the two (2) airmen who called my at=- tention to this object went to notify the night Duty Officer. When he arrived at the scene, the object had moved in a north-eastern direction to about five o'clock and to the eye it seemed to have grown much dimmer. Shortly after the arrival of the Duty Officer, the object disappeared completely. This object travelled from a twelve o'clock position (where I first observed it) to a five o'clock position in a period of five or six minutes. During the movement of this object, I saw it pass between me and a star for just a few seconds. The star was completely blocked from view. There was no sound coming from this moving object and I feel sure that it was not a plane of any kind because of the zig-zag movements and its stopping completely and just remaining motionless. This statement is true and as I had just finished work for the night I had not been drinking. Because of the altitude this object seemed to be at and the distance it travelled, I am certain that it was travelling many times faster than our Jet aircraft can £0 ha A booth ALFES G.
