The object observed by and his wife was round, brilliant white in color and trailed a what seemed to be luminous rocket-—type exhaust gases. The object was traveling at one altitude (unestimated by the observer) and appeared to be traveling four to five times faster than a modern jet fighter aircraft. There were no propulsion or exhaust noises and the object seemed to disappear due to distance after about one minute of observation. The lutinous trail of the object appeared to vary in length. The color of. the exhaust from the object to about three times the length of the object in trail, appeared reddish white and solid. (See diagram). From point #1 (in diagram) to point #2, the exhaust appeared te thin out assume a flame colored - hue and was spaced at short intervals much like recket exhaust. (See. diagram).- There were ne apparent flight centrol surfaces or silhouette and the object accomplished no maneuvers other than straight line travel from Nerthwest te i Southeast. | ) 2, Time sighted: 19:34 MST 27 January 1953 Length of sighting: Approximately one (1) minute 3. Manner of observation: Visual only he Location of observer: 351 Eastland Street, Tucson, Arizona 32912'N/110°56'W 5. Identifying information on observer: oe has had years and 8 months of Military Service with 2 years and 6 months on flying status. He is a high schoel graduate with some college credits, seems to be of average intelligence. Although, SEES, wears glasses for reading, his eyes checked 20/20 on his last physical examination. is well thought of by his superiors and contemporaries and is of above average reliability. : 6. Activities or Meteorological conditions accounting for sighting: None 8. Physical evidence of sighting: None 9. Interception or Identification action taken: None 10. Comments of Preparing Officer: appeared to be of excellent character and seemed sincere during the rendition of his report. He has never seen a similar object and although he does not know what he saw, he is certain it was not a meteorological or astronomical phenomenon. ‘training as a gunner qualifies him as a competent observer.
