On the evening of Thursday, April 3, my husband who is a Crew Chief at eae has been engaged actively in aeronautics for 12 years, part of which was with the AAF, and a friend who 1s a school teacher and I were traveling in an automobile north along the west shore of Cayuga Lake when at a point about 7 miles from the city of — Ithaca at 9:10 PM we saw a "Fireball" cross Cayuga Lake in an arc traveling very rapidly from Northeast to Northwest. it was a sizable ball of fire, green in color with green flames streaking out. This report contains information of the sighting of a "Fireball" seen over the Cayuga Lake region of New York state. 2 Mr. Walter Lee Ott, crew chief at Robinson Airlines and twelve (12) years of aeronautical experience, Mrs. Walter Lee Ott, 127 Blair Street, Ithaca, New York, and a friend visually sighted the fireball at 2110 hours, 3. Mrs. Ott stated in letter form the sighting was made from an auto- mobile seven miles from Ithaca, N.Y., along the west shore of Cayuga Lake. The fireball was traveling very rapidly in an arc from northeast to northwest across Cayuga Lake. Mrs. Ott described the fireball as being sizable, green in color with green flames streaking out. 4.
