1. ae J AF FORM 112—PART Il : AIR INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION REPORT Intel Off 62D TC WING (H) 53~1 2 2 PAGE OF — PAGES On 8 January 1953 the sighting of an unidentified flying objact was reported by members of the 82d Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, a unit of the Air Defense Command stationed at Iarson AFBs The following information was secured by Lt George Gp Graham and myself during the time following the sightings. Deseriptions of the objedt were varied, iee., cigar shaped, round liks | 2 disc, similiar to the tailpipe of a +94 but the conesnsus of opinion was that it was circular somewhat resembling a large weather ballon and all agread : that it was green in color. Thera was no report of sound connected with the sighting and the mansuvors ware described as bobbing, going sideways but always . in the same general SouthNesterly direction from thse base. The majority of the observera were in the squadron area on the base but several reported seeing the objact while driving toward the base from EPHRATA, WASH, a small town 14 miles NNX of Iarson AFB. All observations were Brom the ground and were visual, A check with radar sites in this vicinity show that no unusual objects or activity was noted eat this time. There ware no wheather balloan launches from this base during the reporting period. The following weather conditions existed over the bass and in the vicinity; LARSON AFB 0727 9,000! Broken, 12,000! overcast, Surface winds SS? 26knots with gusta up to 36knots visibility 16 miles.
