Alamos, Sew Mexico, observed an unidentified asrial phenomenony ‘Tha observation was made from the sidewalk in front ef the observers house in the northwest section of the Los Alamos AEC Installation. The object was first observed to the west of the observer, trailing toward northwest, (Heading of object. apprex~ Suately 320° TH) The object appeared to be about five (5) thousand feet above the serrain (terrain 8,000 ft above MSL), The ebject traveled in a slight curve but at constant altitade, The observer stated that the object apparently was followed . Dera high pitched crackling noise. The sound trailed the object by four (4) seconds. She object appeared fire red in color, with no visible contrail or exhaust trail. Ske chserver stated the object traveled faster than any jet he had ever seen. Jo jot aircraft’ were known to be in the area at the time of this observation.
