Size: About the size of a large jet exhaust. Color: Fire red. Speed: 600 to 900 MPH. Maneuvers: Appeared to move in a slight curve toward northwest. 2 from southeast. Noise: High pitched crackling sound. Manner of Disappearance: Lost from view behind nearby mountains. Altitude: Estimated 5,000 ft above terrain. : Estimated 3/4 to one (1) mile. Other Factors: Negatives (2) 2002 MST, 30 December 1952, Los Alamos Prohibited Area. -Length of observation: - Approximately 1.5 seconds, (4) Residential Section of Los Alamos AEC Installation - about 4 miles north of (5) Observers reliability considered excellent. Observer is employed and trained (6) Clear weather, 40 miles visibility. Winds: 14 knots at surface. (7), (8), (9), and (10) A121 negative. On the night of this observation, few people were out doors beceuse of the severe cold. This might account for the lack of other observations. This object may have been a low meteor, producing a sound.
