The National Archives has custody of the records of Project
Bluebook, the U.S. Air Force's investigation of unidentified
flying objects (UFOs). The records cover the period, 1947-1969.
There is no reference to the incident at Roswell among these
records.
Thank you for forwarding Tony Plumage's letter requesting
information concerning the incident at Roswell, New Mexico, in
1947.
For further information on the Roswell incident, please
write Major Dave Thurston, 1690 SAF/PAM, The Pentagon,
Washington, D.C. 20338-1690. You may be interested that three
parties, Representative Schiff of New Mexico, the General
Accounting Office, and the Department of the Air Force conducted
an investigation into the alleged incident at Roswell. The
office mentioned above can provide more information.
